"Upstream", the new LP from Germany's Phil Tyler, is an invitation into a 90s world of jazzy ambience and New York influence. The up-and-coming German beatmaker has carved out a place for itself on the lofi scene with its single 'Unapproachable', which has racked up over 1 million streams. Inspired by legends such as Pete Rock, this project draws its atmosphere from the streets of Berlin, known for their unique hip-hop soul and graffiti culture. A skater at heart, Phil Tyler transcribes his lifestyle on 7 tracks punctuated by soul and jazz samples. A new project that confirms his talent and will appeal to all boom bap fans.
